After providing upper cervical sciatica chiropractic care to thousands of sufferers, this has become a familiar scenario. And if your family or friends of a leg pain or sciatica patient, you've probably seen them wince in pain, and bend into awkward positions to find relief. Allowing sciatica pain to go untreated is not only extremely painful, it can allow for further damage.

Causes of Sciatica
Irritation of the sciatic nerve as it exits the spine is often the result of mechanical dysfunction of the joints of the spine (misalignment), muscles (piriformis), disc compression or bone spurs and results in the pain we associate with sciatica. Although pressure on the sciatic nerve is most often a major cause of symptoms, there are a host of other nerves which can be similarly compressed sending pain, numbness, tingling, burning or weakness to other parts of the lower limbs as well. This is why sciatica can manifest in different ways.
